_In this project, AMITECH participates as a technology partner, working alongside the National Institute of Nutrition to build and deploy the platform infrastructure for the National Nutrition and Community Health Information Portal._

The portal was developed to meet the public's need for access to authoritative nutrition information, in a context where diet-related noncommunicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity are rising rapidly in Vietnam. The platform aims to provide easily accessible scientific knowledge, helping to change nutrition behaviors and support preventive healthcare efforts.

#### The urgent need for authoritative nutrition information
According to the National Institute of Nutrition, nutrition is the foundational factor that determines human health, physique, physical strength, and intelligence throughout the lifespan. However, Vietnam currently faces a "triple burden of nutrition": malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies in certain population groups; rising overweight and obesity; together with an increase in diet-related noncommunicable diseases.

In addition, regional disparities in nutritional status and the spread of unverified information about food and diets are creating significant risks to community health. Therefore, building a unified information platform grounded in scientific evidence and managed by the leading specialized agency is considered an urgent necessity.

The Nutrition Information Portal was developed to meet that need, while also serving as a concrete step in implementing the National Nutrition Strategy for the 2021-2030 period and the digital transformation program for the health sector.

#### A digital knowledge platform serving both the community and professionals

The portal integrates a wide range of in-depth content and functions, including:

  • News and nutrition knowledge for various target groups
  • Publication of scientific research and nutrition surveillance data
  • Training materials and capacity building for healthcare workers
  • Tools for looking up the nutritional value of foods and dishes
  • Guidance on healthy nutrition practices and food safety

The system is not only a communications channel but also a tool to support training, management, and nutrition communication on a nationwide scale, aiming to standardize and disseminate scientific knowledge to every citizen.

#### AMITECH's role in the project

During implementation, AMITECH is responsible for the core technology components, including system architecture, data platform development, interface design, and operational infrastructure deployment.

The solution is built on a digital platform model, designed to simultaneously serve multiple user groups including citizens, healthcare workers, administrators, and researchers. The system emphasizes scalability, information security, and stability to support long-term use at a national scale.

#### Contributing to the digital transformation of preventive healthcare

Putting the Nutrition Information Portal into operation is a concrete step in the digital transformation roadmap of the health sector, aimed at digitizing, systematizing, and standardizing nutritional knowledge.
